“Tobacco use is the leading preventable cause of cancer and cancer deaths. It can cause not only lung cancer — but also cancers of the mouth and throat, voice box, esophagus, stomach, kidney, pancreas, liver, bladder, cervix, colon and rectum, and a type of leukemia”- CDC The aim of this program is to create awareness about ill-effects of tobacco before an individual initiates tobacco use and to encourage tobacco users to quit.Through this campaign, we will work to empower our young students to remain “tobacco free” and helpspread this message among friends and family. We hope that the information we share will help change attitude towards tobacco and prevent tobacco use.BCS intends to scale up this initiative and reach out to more schools and students to share about the adverse effects of tobacco use. We are incredibly honoured to have Dr. Phub Tshering Phub Tshering lead the team. BCS would like to express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Phub, who has been supportive, always been available and continues to help us with his knowledge on cancer.Thank you Team Bhutan Cancer Society-RTCRoyal Thimphu College
