“Let’s Talk about tobacco” 2.0 at Paro College of Education (PCE)

BCS team led by Dr. Phub Tshering visited Paro College of Education on 15th October, 2022 to raise awareness about head and neck cancer and the role of tobacco in cancer.

Cancers of the head and neck are very serious but are often curable if found at an early stage. Awareness of the signs and symptoms of head and neck cancers is the key to early detection. The following are symptoms of these cancers:

-Pain in the throat or ear that does not go away

-A visible lump or ulcer in the mouth that does not heal

-A change in voice or swallowing difficulty

-A mass in the neck or side of the face

(Mount Sinai Medical Center)

If you have any of these symptoms, you should visit a primary care doctor.

☆ consumption of tobacco increases risk factor for getting cancer.

☆use of Tobacco can be controlled, its dependent risk factor.

We would like to thank Dr #Som_Gurung for your kind support and giving opportunity to talk about cancer and role of tobacco.

Thank you to Bhutan Cancer Society PCE for planning and coordinating “let’s talk about tobacco” event at PCE.
